DeepCube, in a joint effort with the H2020 projects CALLISTO and ENVISION, supported the NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2023 as an intergalactic sponsor!

The international event is an annual hackathon for coders, scientists, designers, technologists, and innovators around the world to come together and use open data from NASA and its Space Agency Partners to create solutions to challenges we face on Earth and in space. Each year thousands of teams submit projects that demonstrate creativity, collaboration, and potential, and which go through multiple rounds of judging to determine the NASA International Space Apps Challenge Global Winners, which represent the most innovative and impactful projects submitted by the community.

The NASA Space Apps Challenge local event in Thessaloniki was successfully organized from 6 to 8 of October at the OK!Thess venue and gathered 95 participants.

DeepCube contributed to the hackathon with a challenge on wildfire danger forecasting using the Mesogeos datacube. The challenge was designed and led by Spyros Kondylatos from the National Observatory of Athens, in the role of the mentor.
